- Capabilities

01
Challenge
- Orders arrived through daily manual report downloads into MS Access.
- Pickers and shippers had no shared, live view of order status.
- A second warehouse meant orders had to be routed by destination.
02
Environment
- 18 stores, one warehouse and about 1,000 FBM orders a day.
- Two to three times that volume in November and December.
- Around 10,000 active SKUs and a warehouse team of about a dozen.
03
Intervention
- Real-time order intake from SP-API order-change notifications through SQS.
- Picker, shipper and manager views: trolleys, missing items, custom picklists.
- Multi-warehouse routing by ship-to state, with fallbacks for unknown SKUs.
- Fixed database load with an index instead of a larger instance.
04
Outcome
- Orders are picked and shipped in one app used all day, every day.
- 2,300 orders shipped on a single day after the second warehouse went live.
- No database issues after the index fix, with no tier upgrade.
